Exquisite set of fountain pens, Parker 51 model, in its original case. This unique writing instrument retains its streamlined silhouette and iconic fluted gold-plated steel cap with arrow-shaped clip. This fountain pen has been assembled by hand, incorporating Parker's experience and reputation to deliver superior craftsmanship. The material of the pen body is black Lucite with a glossy finish, a compound synthesized by Dupont at Parker's request. Lucite is an acrylic, a type of resin that has the trade name Plexiglas, very durable. The model was introduced to the market in 1941, and was a sales success. It was a revolutionary pen for its time. There are various hypotheses about who the designer could have been, but the most accepted is that it was the work of the Hungarian designer Lazlo Moholy Nagy (1895-1946), a follower of the Bauhaus movement. He moved to Chicago, where he founded a design workshop in 1938 along with other artists. It is the best-selling pen in history and the most functional that has ever been manufactured, since it is balanced, does not fail, does not lose ink and the flow is continuous. This model is one of the few writing tools on display at MoMA, demonstrating the importance of its design and popularity. Exceptional collector's piece. Parker Pen Company The Parker Pen Company is a luxury pen manufacturer, founded in 1888 by George Safford Parker in the United States. It quickly became one of the most prestigious manufacturers of pens in the world, which have been used in such important moments in history as the signing of armistices in World War II and nuclear disarmament treaties between the US and the USSR during the War. Cold. Parker's efforts to bring good pens to everyone meant that throughout its history it produced models for both luxury and everyday use. The problem with cheap pens of the time was that they were flimsy, and this is where Parker made the difference, using quality materials. The company's philosophy was established by George S. Parker more than 120 years ago: "Make something better and people will buy it." Reference : 308775
