RENE DROUET
1899-1993
After studying at the Ecole Boulle, Drouet apprenticed at Galeries Lafayette with master decorator Maurice Dufrene. He then worked for DIM (Décoration Interieure Mobilier) and joined Jean Domin's workshop in 1929. Thanks to a solid knowledge of materials acquired during his years as an apprentice, he is able to supply furniture and create complete interiors. A true Art Deco enthusiast, Drouet carried the French style from the '40s through to the post-war period. He notably designed a top-floor apartment in a mansion in the Parc Monceau for Charles Boyer and Pat Paterson.
