Vintage high formica chest of drawers with mirror for Schreiber Furniture, 1970

This is a tall chest of drawers with the added feature of a compartment at the top, with a round mirror in the lid. Typical of the Schreiber style. Simple clean design with their trademark wood grain Formica. Founded in 1957 by Chaim Schreiber, Schreiber furniture is an interesting British success story. The Company was one of the biggest names in furniture in the 70s, rivalling G Plan and other well known manufacturers. In 1973 they added fitted kitchen to their range, and created 280 Schreiber Furniture Centre shops throughout UK.
