About this vintage design furniture
Here are two chairs from the bow wood series edited by Hugues Steiner and designed by Wilhem von Bode in 1948.
Spring-mounted seat. The backrest is very supple, thanks to its base-mounted frame, making these chairs very comfortable!
French manufacture, early '50s. Structure in oak-stained bent ash, seat and back covered in imitation leather. One burgundy and one brown chair.
Traditional spring and horsehair interior.
Spring-mounted seat. Thanks to its base-mounted frame system, the backrest is very supple, making this chair very comfortable!
In good original condition. The upholstery is an almond-green fabric in good overall condition. Note a brown trace on one of the seats (probably a trace of glue).
General condition remains good.

About the designer
Hugues STEINER
1926 - 1991Hugues Steiner was a French designer born in Mulhouse in 1933 and died in Paris in 2014. He studied at the Strasbourg School of Applied Arts, then worked as a graphic designer and art director in several advertising agencies in France and Switzerland.
