About this vintage design furniture
Set of 5 white Selene chairs designed by Italian Architect Vico Magistretti for Artemide, Italy
Made from just a single piece of compression-moulded thick reglar (fiberglass-reinforced polyester) and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
The shape of the elastic back rest is very comfortable.
In 1967 Vico Magistretti patented the principle for his ‘selene’ chair,
The Selene chair was shown in the Italian Design Exhibition in New York in 1968 and was honoured in the Compasso d'Oro competition Milan. It also appears in the MOMA permanent design collection and the Vitra museum
These 5 chairs are made in the first year of production for the furniture group Artemide because the Patent was still Pending.
The chairs are in a great vintage condition, minor surface age wear
