Group of 5 “sommerso” vases. Designed
by Gunnar Nylund. Manufactured by
Strömbergshyttan in Sweden during the
1950s. Coloured glass cased in clear
technique. Three vases signed, engraved.
Very good condition with signs of use
and age related patina.
H 21 to 34 x W 6 to 10 x D 4 to 6cm

About the designer
Gunnar NYLUND
Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish designer known for his contributions to the Scandinavian ceramics industry. Born in Paris, Nylund spent his childhood in France and studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1925, he returned to Sweden and began working in the ceramics industry in Upsala-Ekeby.
