Vintage Sommerso geode bowl in Murano glass by Galliano Ferro, Italy 1960s

For sale a Mid-Century Sommerso blue & green Murano dimpled Geode vide poche/catch-all Bowl by Galliano Ferro, Italy circa 1960s. This gorgeous bowl is in good vintage condition, with some minor marks and scratches commensurate with 50+ years of age & use and carries its original "Murano - Made in Italy" label. Sommerso (Italian for "submerged") is the Murano glassmaking technique of creating two or more layers of contrasting glass without the colours mixing together. It is formed by dipping coloured glass into molten glass of a different colour, before blowing the glass into the required form. (20thcenturyglass) Reference : 263656
