About this vintage design furniture
Navy model pendant lamp produced in the 80s by the Danish firm Louis Poulsen. It presents a structure made of lacquered aluminum that combines black and white. Curious is the story of this luminaire also known as Doo-Wop although baptized with the name of Søværnspendel or Navy in the European market; some attribute its design to Henning Klok and others to Jørn Utzon but in reality the author of the lamp is not a person, but an organization: the Construction Department of the Danish Navy (Søværnets Bygningsdistrikt) hence its original name. Produced from 1967 by Nordisk Solar Compagni to later be the prestigious label Louis Poulsen who would take care of it, until the 1980s. Given the success that this lamp had and still has in the vintage market, Louis Poulsen, in 2012, resumed production under the new name of Doo-Wop.
