About this vintage design furniture
The ultimate in desk lamps – a very genuine Post War four-spring model 1209 Anglepoise draughtsman’s task lamp manufactured by Herbert Terry & Sons, Redditch, England.
‘The Anglepoise’, designed by George Carwardine in 1933, revolutionized task lighting in commercial applications and very soon after in the home.
This large lamp (110cm extended), works exactly as it should do, with fingertip control, in original paint with great patina, original Crabtree Bakelite bulb holder and crinkle painted heavy cast iron base. Stamped “The Anglepoise PAT in UK and Abroad”. Professionally rewired with antique style 3-core braided flex. The lamp has a couple of small dents and scratches, plus some paint loss - please see images.
