About this vintage design furniture
Rare Westnofa sofa model “Marina” designed by Gerhard Berg for Stokke in 1960 and sold by Westnofa, Norway. This sofa has been reupholstered with fabric from De Ploeg (Ploeg, Ploegwool 86 and Grape 68). Stokke furniture was sold all over the world by Westnofa. Westnofa was an export marketing company founded by the five largest furniture manufacturers (in Sunnmøre, Norway in 1954) to improve their competitiveness in the international market. Stokke was one of these five companies. The condition is very good, partly due to the new upholstery. The frame has normal signs of use, wear consistent with age. The frame has been fully checked, restored where necessary (reglued) and oiled. Dimensions: h x w x d = 90 x 226 x 80 cm and the seat height is 39 cm. Material: Teak wood and fabric from De Ploeg. Source: Stokke Catalogue and Scandinavian Airlines System SAS advertisement. Marked “Westnova Furniture, Made in Norway” (see photo).
