About this vintage design furniture
This very rare Safari sofa, created in 1968 by Archizoom Associati for Poltronova, is a newly upholstered piece in pure cotton and has a frame made of fiberglass. Two layers of the highest quality foam of different densities offer ultimate seating comfort. The four identical modular units allow shaping this sectional sofa in various ways, depending on your personal preference. The freedom of form that this fully modular seating system allows encouraged a completely new way of organizing living spaces.
Italian radical design collective Archizoom Associati was founded in 1966 in Florence by four architects: Andrea Branzi, Gilberto Corretti, Paolo Deganello, Massimo Morozzi, joined in 1968 by two designers, Dario Bartolini and Lucia Bartolini. Adopting an attitude of design vigilantism, their work critiqued modernism and its inherent propensity to promote consumerist, style-driven societies. The agency was active from 1966 to 1974.
We have four units available, priced per piece.
