About this vintage design furniture
Early masterpiece by the French designer Jean Prouvé. Originally designed for the student dormitory of the Cité Universitaire in Nancy. Here in the reedition con Tecta from the eighties. Frame in midnight blue lacquered steel. Covered with anthracite-coloured canvas. Extremely rare in this material and colour combination. Very good used condition. Slight traces of use on the seat.

About the designer
Jean PROUVE
1901 - 1984Jean Prouvé (1901-1984) was a French designer and builder. Born in Nancy, he began working in his father's iron workshop before studying art and design at the École de Nancy. In the 1920s, he began designing metal furniture and founded his own company, Ateliers Jean Prouvé, in 1923.
