About this vintage design furniture
A plywood shelving unit by Willem Lutjens for De Boer Gouda, with the characteristic curved ends of the shelves which has made this such a famous and now rare design. The piece was designed in 1953 and manufactured in the Netherlands. The shelving is formed from bent teak veneered ply and at the time of purchase would have been available in different variations which you could add to or remove to suit the space or your needs, the shelving is also easy to take apart. A very iconic piece.

About the designer
Willem LUTJENS
Willem Lutjens was a Dutch designer, born on January 24, 1894 in Amsterdam and died on January 9, 1959 in Wassenaar. He studied architecture at Delft Polytechnic before turning to design. He worked for several design companies, including Metz & Co, where he created fabrics and wallpapers.
