Beautiful Sommerso teardrop art glass sculpture designed by Flavio Poli and produced in Murano, Italy in the 1960s. "Sommerso" is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which was very popular in the 1950s-60s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer. This beautiful item is made of thick navy blue, azure, blue and clear glass (4 colours). It is extremely decorative. Measurements: height: 21,5 cm; width (largest point): 10 cm; depth (largest point): 6 cm. Weight: 1,4 kg Very good vintage condition.

Flavio POLI
Flavio Poli (1900-1984) was a renowned Italian designer, known for his work in glass. Born in Chioggia, near Venice, Poli studied at the Institute of Applied Arts in Venice, where he developed a passion for blown glass.
