About this vintage design furniture

This lamp, that looks like a flying saucer is designed in the early 1950’s by Louis Kalff for Philips. It represents the beautiful designs of this decade strongly I think. Typical terms like ‘science’, ‘progression’ and ‘renewed freedom’ are all readable here. The lamp has an aluminium shade in original condition. The three uplighters and one downlighter are all E27 sockets. Rewired. H x Diameter 20 x 55 cm 7.9 x 21.7 inch.
