This u-453 chest of drawers, designed by Jiří Jiroutek and published by Interier Praha. Icon of Czech mid-century design, with its modernist and modular form, resting on compass legs. The interior of the 8 drawers is made of milk chocolate coloured moulded plastic, while the lacquered wooden front alternates black and white horizontal stripes, in perfect harmony with the light oak structure. Oak structure and oak veneer. The playful rhythm of the coloured striped drawers creates a beautiful play of contrasting light. A highly coveted piece of furniture at the time, this chest of drawers was designed for the 1958 Brussels World Fair. It bears the original manufacturer's label and is in impeccable condition.
