1950´s Danish handblown glass drop vase by Per Lütken for Holmegaard Danish glassmaker Per Lütken (1916 - 1998) worked at Holmegaard from 1942 until his death in 1998. During this period he created some of the factory’s finest pieces and all-time classics like the drop vase. The work of Per Lütken is still highly rated, especially throughout Scandinavia. The arrival of Lütken at Holmegaard in many aspects marked a new beginning in the history of the factory that was originally founded in 1823. Per Lütken was a Danish glass designer born on March 17, 1916 in Copenhagen and died on July 19, 1998 in Holte, Denmark. He is best known for his work as senior designer at Holmegaard, a Danish glass company, from 1942 until his death.
