About this vintage design furniture
This elegant daybed is a work of designer Miroslav Navrátil. It was produced in Czechoslovakia in 1960s. The daybed was traditionally named a "Swedish bench" by locals during the Communist times in Czechoslovakia. It works with a simple system which allows to make the sofa into a bed very easily. Whewn opened to bed shape the bed is 88cm (W). The daybed stands on four oak wood legs, these were completely restored. The upholstery is original in a combination of dark blue (almost black) and grey fabric with patterns. Both fabrics are with wool in it. The back of the backrest is finished with a wooden panel. Very good condition with minor wear on the fabric. The wood is in very good condition. Great item for any modern ineriors Seat hight 42cm.

Miroslav Navratil is a Czech industrial designer born in 1952 in Prague. He graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in 1978, where he studied product design.
