About this vintage design furniture
Early 1960s Danish Modern Teak Sideboard with unusual full width sliding Tambour doors, which consist of precise machined teak slats set on a thick oil cloth that slide along tracks, and disappear into the unit itself. This is a very nicely made freestanding piece of furniture, which allows it to be used as a room divider. The doors, which are book matched, slide open with circular recessed teak handles to reveal three sliding central drawers lined with original baize, flanked by cupboards, both with adjustable shelves. Bought from the original owner who purchased the sideboard from Heals, London in 1962. There is a small mark to the top of the sideboard, and a patch on the left hand side, which looks as though it’s part of the grain - please see images.
