Vintage Television Brionvega by Algol by Marco Zanuso & Richard Sapper for Brionvega, Italy 1980
About this vintage design furniture
Cagnolino has always been there, with his daring way of putting himself, totally turned towards us, for a less rigid, more participative and conscious use of the television media. Portable to be like all the things you fall in love with, inseparable. In 1964, Marco Zanuso and Richard Sapper signed the TV Algol 11. Made of coloured plastic (ABS) and with the use of transistors. The organic shape, characterized by the inclination of the front part of the body, which ends with the screen, allows viewing even when the device is placed on the ground. Marco Zanuso compared it to a dog looking at its master. This version dates back to the 1980s, when colour management was added, but the versions have kept the original Algol concept unchanged. It is delivered in excellent conditions and when plugged in, the red light on the television comes on, but it has not been properly tested. A fine example of Italian design history that is part of the permanent exhibition at MoMA. An icon that will always be there, ready to surprise you and your guests.
