About this vintage design furniture
Red Bent Karlby Ceiling Lamp designed for Indoor lamps in the ’60s. This is the largest version of this rare ceiling lamp. This ceiling lamp has a red metal perforated cap and a shade of plastic. The lamp contains a round fluorescent tube, which are still for sale, and now also in led. The condition is still good with normal traces of use (see pictures). Dimensions: h x d 52 x 12 cm. Source: Indoor catalogue 1962, page B19. Bent Karlby can be considered as one of the masters of 20th century Danish Design. Karlby was trained as an architect and mainly designed furniture, lamps and wallpaper. His oil paintings are also very rare and sought after.

Bent Karlby (1912-1998) was a Danish designer renowned for his contributions to the lighting industry. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, where he developed his minimalist, functional style.
