About this vintage design furniture
Modern mid-century lounge chair AP 14, designed by Pierre Paulin in 1955 and made by the Dutch manufacturer AP Polak. This model is also known as the Anneau chair. The well-built, almost architectonic metal frame retains the original canvas sling, giving a comfortable seat. The Havana-coloured leather slab is an elegant detail, which was added later. All in good condition, the canvas shows traces of use as shown in the photos. Seat height 36 cm. Paulin has experimented with folded and pressed wooden shells, metal frames and canvas slings, large foam interiors and elastic padding to create his sculptural vision on furniture. Furniture that, because of its modern views, always feels contemporary in any home. Source: Book "Stoelen, Nederlandse Ontwerpen 1945-1985", Peter Vöge en Bab Westerveld, page 97.
