About this vintage design furniture
Mid-century Dutch dining room, decorated with woven rattan (Rush) seats and a solid Wenge frame, Netherlands, 1960s. Of modest design, with straight lines and angles, the rear seat is curved for more comfort. Parts are in good original condition, without structural damage. Some parts of the frame (especially the backrest) have become lighter over time due to sunlight, as shown in the pictures. The design is very similar to the dining chairs that Martin Visser made for Spectrum in the late 1960s. In line with the furniture and interiors of the Bossche school by Dom Hans van der Laan and Jan de Jong. The previous owner bought them at the end of the 1960s from Metz & Co (Amsterdam). At that time, there were several Dutch manufacturers, all focusing on modern, efficient but elegant pieces. Further information on dimensions : seat height: 45cm
