Vintage Pearl shade pendant light by Lars Schiøler for Hoyrup Light. Denmark 1960s

Plastic pendant light by Lars Schiøler for the Danish pioneer plastic lamp shade manufacturer Hoyrup. These were the very first plastic lamp shades that the company started to make in 1960. The shades are known as "pearl shades" and were later copied by several other producers. The shade is held together with plastic rings on the top and bottom featuring an imitation teak surface. Due to the somewhat fragile nature of the material very few of these lamps have survived. This one is in good condition with just a slight darkening on the top and one very small break as seen in one photo.
