About this vintage design furniture
A Georg Thams lounge chair(model 61, 1964) with an eye catching frame of smoked oak and rosewood slats in the back. The piece was manufactured in the late 1960s by Vejen Polstermøbelfabrik. This Danish modern piece, with legs that go all the way up to the back and support the rosewood panels, is upholstered in a great green and blue abstract floral velvet by Jack Leonor Larsen. The item is in good condition. Some traces of use on the fabric. Source Literature: Mobilia 1964, edition no. 110. Seat height: approx. 36cm

About the designer
Georg THAMS
Georg Thams was a German industrial designer born in 1935 in Flensburg and died in 2016 in Tønder, Denmark. He studied at the Flensburg School of Applied Arts and began his career working as a carpenter before turning to industrial design.
