About this vintage design furniture
David Rowland Set of 6 Chairs David Rowland was an American industrial designer famous for his chair 404, so named because it allows 40 chairs to be stacked on 4 legs (120 cm) high. For eight years, Rowland worked intermittently and perfected his design to create a revolutionary new stacking chair with a wire frame and sculpted seat and backrest. Chair 404 has won numerous design awards and is featured in design collections and museums around the world in recognition of its elegant lines, excellent ergonomics, unsurpassed stacking and handling, and space-saving benefits for flexible interiors. Here we have 6,404 chairs in their original military green. Chromed wire frame and carved metal seat. Around the 1960s. These first editions are entirely made of metal (seat and frame), the Danish Howe still produces the 404 in plastic but no longer in metal. Price for the six chairs Condition: They have excellent metal wear. All are solid and in good condition. Dimensions (cm) : 45 W x 76 H x 50 D.
