About this vintage design furniture

Palm, crystal and brass wall light, Palwa, 1970 This sconce has been carefully cleaned while respecting the period patina. It has been reconnected and earthed, tested by an electrician, it works perfectly and is ready to be installed. Bulbs are included. This lamp can be used with a dimmer switch and can be used in other countries, although it may be necessary to buy different bulbs suitable for local electricity. Palwa Lighting is well known for the quality of its crystals and the originality of its design. This playful design is a large sculptural palm tree more than one meter high, made of luxurious materials: crystal and brass. This luminaire could be used in a wide range of interiors such as Art Deco, Mid-Century Modernism, Hollywood Regency, 70's Glamour, Traditional or Contemporary. It consists of two parts, the sculptural palm on an oval brass base. The large main frame of the palm tree sculpture has a long trunk with a crown of 9 leaves. Each leaf is decorated with more than 100 faceted and hand polished clear crystals. In total, there are nearly 1000 crystals. The structure of the leaf is a brass grid on the back. Each crystal is held inside the grid by a brass wire tied at each junction of the grid. The outline of the leaf is a textured brass trim. The complete crown of leaves is removable and bolted to the back of the trunk in three places. The wall-mounted base is a polished brass oval plate. It has 7 lamp sockets with polished brass covers. There are 2 holes through which this plate is screwed to the wall. On the back of the palm tree sculpture is an oval tubular frame which is connected to the wall plate. Once the wall plaque is screwed to the wall, the oval tubular frame hooks onto it, held in place by two vertical brass dowels on top of the plaque. This wall light carries 7 small standard screw bulbs (E14) with a maximum wattage of 40 watts each. It is currently equipped and photographed with 25-watt Pygmy Clear bulbs. They are included in the price. It is possible to use any other form of E14 bulb. This antique lamp is in very good condition. The frame is sound, without damage, and the brass is in very good condition. All the crystals are original, present and in very good condition, without splinters. The packaging is free of charge. We take special professional care with the packaging. For safe transport, the sculpture will be removed and packed separately from the base. Each one will be wrapped in a layer of bubble wrap and soft cardboard. The whole set will fit in a box with bulk bubble wrap, ideal for safe shipping.
