About this vintage design furniture

Beautiful White & Newton Sideboard - Mid Century Modern - Heals A superbly crafted 1960s Sideboard By White & Newton of Portsmouth. The company favoured the use of teak in many of its staple designs, but on its higher end pieces used more luxurious timbers such as rosewood and afromosia. This Sideboard uses contrasts warm teak and dark rich Afromosia, a stunning colour combination. Amazing grains to the teak can be seen on this sideboard. Mirrored teak veneers on doors. Solid teak frame. the piece e consists of two opening side doors, each cupboard has an inner shelf. Three large deep draws which all slide in and out perfectly. Lovely solid stylised legs. White & Newton pieces were known for their cutting edge designs and quality in great Britain throughout the mid 20th century. Overall a top quality versatile piece of mid century furniture. This piece has been fully stripped of all its old tired finish, cleaned and finally given three coats of a quality wax oil bringing it back to it lovely original condition. It is free from damaged veneers and has no filler. A great addition to any mid century - modern home or office.
