Product description
A very special, exclusive and generously designed task chair with a comfortable mechanism and extremely good seating comfort - a very impressive model from 1955!
Note: The 2nd photo shows a historical photo of the company founder Dir. Johannes Larsen presents this armchair model - his "King Chair" - in front of his factory in Skælskør (DK)!
Rare, representative original from the 50s! Made in Denmark - LaBoFa - Larsens Bolzen factory
Construction: Heavy, leather-covered swivel armchair (genuine leather: black) with armrests on a 4-star base - black lacquered steel base with smooth-running castors and nickel-plated decorative plates with embossed "Labofa" signet (see photo)
The seat and backrest are visually and structurally separated from each other and move smoothly and silently against each other thanks to the extremely simple but ingenious, solid mechanism. (i.e. when you lean back and relax, the seat also tilts gently).
Really impressive, robust tilt mechanism, individually adjustable - no gas pressure spring technology - height adjustment via Ø 30 mm threaded spindle - extremely robust and virtually "indestructible"!
Dimensions: total height approx. 88 - 100 cm, total width approx. 75 cm, total depth approx. 60 cm, seat height approx. 46 - 58 cm
Manufacturer and design: LaBoFa - Kontor Møbel Fabrik - was founded in 1947 by Johannes Larsen as "Larsens Bolzen Fabrik" in Skælskør (Denmark). Since the 1950s, the company has focused on the construction of office chairs and in the following years, the former automobile and bicycle workshop was able to establish itself as one of the largest Scandinavian furniture manufacturers.
During this time, there were links with the Danish office furniture company KEVI A/S, which is also known for the "Kevi castor" developed by Ib and Jorgen Rasmussen and later taken over by Fritz Hansen. A collaboration with the Danish designer Jacob Jensen, who was head designer at Bang & Olufsen in the 60s/70s, is also mentioned.
To this day, LaBoFa office furniture for the most demanding requirements is successfully marketed worldwide.
