Description:
2 very nice antique plaster life size Jesus Sacred Heart statues. These statues are from the master saint statue maker from the Netherlands, Gerard Linssen.
Gerard Linssen established a factory in Venlo, Netherlands in 1893 that specialized in the manufacture of polychromed plaster statues. This marked the beginning of a thriving sculpture industry in the region, with Linssen becoming one of the leading makers of church statues in the country. As purveyor to the Pope's court, he created countless works of religious art. Although he died in 1921, his legacy lives on in the many magnificent sculptures he created.
These statues are made of solid plaster and then hand-painted. There is a hole on the back for attaching the halo. You can clearly see the high quality of the work in the details of the face and hair. On the back the statues are marked, 1 statue also has the coat of arms. The hands, as usual with antique saint statues, are loose and can thus be transported safely. In short a very nice antique saint statue for the collector and enthusiast.

Condition:
Generally in good condition but they do have some signs of use as shown in the photos (more photos are available). One is missing the halo, these are not exchangeable.
Pick up or Have it Delivered:
This item can be picked up in shopping center Ijmuiden, near Amsterdam, but can also be personally delivered throughout the Netherlands and abroad. Within Ijmuiden this will be charged €20,-, outside Ijmuiden from €30,- (ask for a calculation). Upon delivery, an individual appointment is made and a good service is provided with placement at the desired location with a smile.
