In 1959, the Paxette electromatic was advertised as the world's first and only fully automatic 35 mm camera. Its selenium light meter controls the aperture and gives a green signal of sufficient light in the viewfinder. But other automatic functions are missing. Instead, the Ennagon 1:5.6/40 mm lens is self-focusing, and has only a single transmission speed of 1/40 sec. Only 17/18 DIN (40/50 ASA) film can be used. Aggressive advertising controls a legal dispute with Agfa over the fully automatic detector. Braun lost the case and had to comply when disuse occurred for the first time in a fully automatic device.
For the first time, the rewind (unlock) button can be accessed, which appears directly via the devices on the top. Alternatively, it can be confused with the second selection.
