In the 1960s, Brunu began working for the French company Airborne International, where he designed a series of furniture pieces in light, resistant metal, such as the famous "Maracatu" chair and the "Jetson" chaise longue. These pieces quickly gained international recognition and were shown at design exhibitions around the world. During the 1970s, Brunu continued to work for Airborne International while creating furniture for other Italian companies. He also taught design at Turin Polytechnic and Florence University. Mario Brunu died in 2003, but his legacy continues to inspire many contemporary designers. His furniture is appreciated for its simple, elegant design, lightness and functionality.
