Over the course of his career, Niek Hiemstra has designed numerous products for renowned companies such as Gispen, Artifort and Ahrend. His designs are characterized by simplicity, functionality and durability. Hiemstra has won several awards for his designs, including the Groningen Provincial Design Award in 1993. In addition to his work as a product designer, Niek Hiemstra has also taught product design at the Minerva Academy of Fine Arts in Groningen. He has also participated in design exhibitions throughout the Netherlands and Europe. Niek Hiemstra continues to work as a freelance designer in the Netherlands.
