In the 1960s, Krüger founded his own design studio in Stuttgart, where he worked on numerous graphic design, corporate identity, packaging and signage projects for clients such as Mercedes-Benz, Siemens and the City of Stuttgart. Krüger was known for his clean, minimalist style, which was inspired by the aesthetics of the Bauhaus movement. He was also one of the first designers to use photography as a key element in his designs, innovatively integrating images into his work. Over the course of his career, Krüger won numerous awards and honors for his work, including the German State Prize for Design in 1972 and the Gold Medal of the Art Directors Club in 1980.
