Fabricius & Kastholm
Mythical pieces were born of their collaboration. Renowned for their sophisticated shapes and ergonomic design, they have stood the test of time and continue to seduce. The FK series and the Tulipe FK 6726 armchair have helped the designers gain recognition in the world of design. Preben Fabricius and Jorgen Kastholm are two Danish designers born in 1931. Fabricius began his studies as a cabinetmaker, while Kastholm was a wrought-iron worker. Both entered the Copenhagen School of Interior Design, where they met. At the same time, they also met Finn Juhl. Fabricius and Kastholm combined their skills throughout their careers. This partnership produced some very fine pieces, and won them a number of awards, including the Gute Form prize in 1969, in recognition of their sense of innovation and craftsmanship. Both have taught at various Danish universities. They are recognized worldwide for their elegant design and meticulous craftsmanship.
