2 pieces Poltrona fau White leather Excellent condition History: A historic piece from the Poltrona Frau collection, Fumoir revises the elegant living room set introduced in the catalog in the 1920s in the form of models 118 and 518. Renzo Frau drew inspiration from the 18th-century tub armchair with low back, which is particularly suited to the upright posture we adopt around a table or in a waiting room. The Fumoir sofa and armchair are distinguished by the lack of a separate backrest cushion and by the way they are significantly reduced in size, making them quite maneuverable and versatile, just as they were then. All items in the Fumoir range come with brass front wheels and stand out for the checkerboard pattern stitching on the backrest and the leather-covered buttons. A row of leather-covered pegs refines the back and sides of both the armchair and sofa. The support structure is made of seasoned beech wood. The seat's spring system consists of hand-knotted steel biconical springs placed on jute straps. The padding is of rubberized horsehair. Upholstery is of Pelle Frau® leather or fabric. Concept Fumoir reinterprets stylish living room furniture, such as the models 118 and 518, which appeared in Poltrona Frau's catalog from the 1920s. It is inspired by the low, arched armchair of the 18th century, especially suited to the upright sitting position people adopt around a table or in a waiting room. The entire series comes with brass front casters and is characterized by the diamond-shaped stitching pattern of the backrest. The supporting structure is made of seasoned beech wood. The suspension of the seat is by biconic steel springs that are hand-tied and rest on jute straps. The padding material is of ruffled horsehair. Available upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather or fabric from Poltrona Frau's exclusive textile collection.
