This design classic, the AJ Royal Pendant Lamp, was designed in 1957 by Arne Jacobsen and produced by Louis Poulsen. Jacobsen designed the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen for the airline SAS around 1957. He designed not only the hotel, but also its furnishings, such as the famous Egg and Swan Chairs, and thus this AJ Royal Lamp. This metal lamp has a stylish taupe/gray-brown metal shade and slats, for a distinctive Danish look. The ring on the inside is made of cast aluminum. The lamp has four light fixtures and provides beautiful light downward, but warm light also shines subtly outward through the slats. The lamp is in clean condition with minor traces of use.
