Product description
Impressive watercolor made by the Spanish artist Salvador Gutiérrez de la Concha. A professional watercolorist, he dedicated practically his entire career to the production of seascapes, in which his accomplished painting technique stands out, acquired through direct observation, fascinated by the effect that light creates when it hits the surface of the water. This was the objective of his works, to capture that precise moment, using loose and dynamic brushstrokes, emulating to a certain extent the painters of the impressionist school.
In this case, it represents a wide panoramic view of the sea waters, a rough sea under a cloudy sky with which he demonstrates the skill of his technique and his extraordinary expressive capacity, halfway between figuration and abstraction. There are no sailboats or any other element that announces human presence, as is usually the case in his work.
Originally from Santander, the artist acquired great fame during the second half of the 20th century, showing his work in different galleries on the national and international scene, always being the object of criticism that praised the beauty, variety and fullness of his works. watercolors. He participated in numerous group exhibitions together with masters of painting such as García Ochoa, Goñi, Martínez Novillo, Viola, Redondela, Garcés... His works can be seen in private and public spaces of organizations and entities such as Banco Santander, BBVA, the Botín Foundation, the City Council and the Provincial Council of A Coruña…
Signed and dated in the lower right corner, it also preserves the original period framing.
