Hans Eichenberger

He is famous for the Wogg 13 column, a piece of furniture designed in 1994. It is part of the mythic pieces from the 20th Century. He is also the designer of a leather sofas line for Strässle Switzerland (1979). Biography Hans Eichenberger was born in 1926 in Switzerland. He was apprenticed as a carpenter then he did several internships as a drawer. In 1960, he founded his own workshop and began to collaborate with the “Atelier 5”. In total, he designed more than 35 seats, including the Expo sofa (1964) and the Saffa chair (1955). He was responsible for the layout of restaurants, shops, libraries and banks. His work has been many times exhibited: at the Museum of Modern Art in New-York, at the Museum of Design in Zurich and at the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein.
