Particularly productive in the 1950s and 1960s, he designed numerous pieces of furniture dedicated to the office: the Q2 chair, the 2712 office armchair, the 5600 storage unit... Simple, practical and functional, his creations quickly met with great success! Biography Cordemeyer was born in Holland in 1924. He began his career as an engineer in a chimney factory, after studying at Amsterdam Technical University. He began his career as a designer with the renowned Gispen publishing house in 1954. Together with his colleague, designer Wim Rietveld, Cordemeyer worked on particularly functional and practical furniture ranges. It was he who convinced Gispen to introduce polypropylene into industrial production around 1956 - a veritable revolution and the beginning of success! Cordemeyer is one of the great visionary designers of the 20th century.
