Kayser

Fredrik KAYSER

Kayser studied at the Oslo School of Arts and Crafts, where he was trained in carpentry and woodcarving. After graduating in 1945, he worked as a designer for several furniture companies in Norway.

In 1955, Kayser founded his own design company, Kayser Møbelfabrikk, which quickly gained a reputation for its modern, elegant furniture. Kayser's designs were often characterized by clean, minimalist lines, natural materials such as wood and leather, and attention to detail and functionality.

Kayser won several awards for his innovative designs, including the gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1957 for his "Capella" armchair. He also taught at the National School of Industrial Design in Oslo and was a founding member of the Norwegian Designers Union.

Unfortunately, Kayser's career was cut short by his untimely death at the age of 44. Despite this, his influence on Scandinavian and international design continues to be felt today.
