Carl Harry STALHANE

After studying at the Konstfack School of Art and Design in Stockholm, Stålhane began working for Rörstrand in 1949. He worked there for over 30 years, creating one-off ceramic pieces, vases and plates, as well as models for mass production.

Stålhane's creations are characterized by a modern, minimalist style, influenced by Bauhaus designs. He was also influenced by the Japanese pottery tradition, in particular by the simplicity and functionality of their designs.

Stålhane's work is exhibited in museums around the world, including the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. His contribution to Swedish pottery has been recognized on numerous occasions, including the Lunning Prize in 1958 and the title of Honorary Professor at the University of Gothenburg in 1982.
