Poul VOLTHER

Volther studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen from 1945 to 1950, where he was influenced by the functionalist design of Arne Jacobsen and Poul Henningsen. After graduating, he worked as a freelance designer and quickly gained a reputation for his innovative designs.

His Corona chair, created in 1964, has become one of his most famous creations. The chair is an example of modern Danish design, with a streamlined silhouette and solid wood construction. The chair has won numerous awards and is considered one of the great classics of Danish design.

Volther has worked for many Danish furniture companies, including FDB, Erik Jørgensen, and Kvist Industries, and has won numerous awards for his designs. He has been recognized as one of the most important designers of his time, and has been honored with several retrospective exhibitions of his work.
