Biography Fritz Haller was born in Switzerland in 1924. He began his career by an apprenticeship as a building designer at the beginning of the 40s, then he joined an architectural firm in Rotterdam and decided to work for his father into his own cabinet in Soleure. In 1961, he designed the new buildings of the USM company in Müsingen and two years later, he created the USM Haller system with Paul Schärer, grandson of the USM founder and new manager. This specific furniture met quickly with great success because it seduced first the managers of the famous Rothschild bank. The USM Haller is exhibited since 2001 at the Museum of Modern Art of New-York.
