Pascal and Olivier Mourgue

Olivier is the designer of famous pieces of furniture including the Djinn long chair (1964) which is present in “the Space Odyssey” movie by Stanley Kubrick. The “Fourre-Tout” lines (1972) are also legendary pieces. Pascal has marked design thanks to several creations such as the Calin sofa (1997), the Samala collection (2000) and the Silver Moon (1987) and the Tutti Frutti (1992) chairs. Biography Olivier and Pascal Mourgue were born in 1939 and 1943 in France respectively. They both graduated from the Boulle School and from the School of Decorative Arts in Paris. Olivier worked for great companies including Renault, Mobilier International and Airborne. He was professor at the School of Art in Brest (in France). Pascal also designed pieces of furniture for great manufacturers such as Cassina, Knoll and Cinna. At the end of his career, he dedicated his work to artistic creation. They received several rewards including the National Prize of Industrial Creation (1991). Their creations are exhibited in beautiful museums such as the Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum and the MoMa in New-York.
