After working for several Italian design companies in the 1950s, Sabattini founded his own studio in 1956. He quickly gained international renown for his silverware designs, characterized by elegant, organic forms. In the 1960s, Sabattini began working with ceramists, creating unique and innovative ceramic pieces for companies such as Rosenthal and Raymor. He also designed furniture and lamps. Sabattini won numerous awards throughout his career, including the prestigious Compasso d'Oro in 1956, 1959 and 1962. His work is exhibited in museums around the world, including New York's MoMA and London's Victoria and Albert Museum.
