In the 1950s, Jolain began working for the textile company Lelièvre, where she remained for over 30 years. There, she created patterns for upholstery fabrics and wallpapers, which were widely distributed in France and abroad. She also worked for other textile brands, such as Pierre Frey and Canovas. Jolain was known for her colorful, graphic style, combining abstract and figurative motifs in bright color palettes. She created designs for modern and contemporary interiors, as well as more traditional motifs. Jolain received several awards for her work, including the Prix de la Ville de Paris in 1962 and the Silver Medal of the Société d'Encouragement à l'Industrie Nationale in 1968. She was also named Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Mérite in 1983. Today, Mado Jolain's creations are considered classics of 20th-century French design, and are sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts alike.
