After graduating, Monnet worked as a freelance designer, collaborating with Swiss companies such as Laufen, Mobel and Création Baumann. In 1989, he set up his own design agency, Monnet Design, specializing in product, furniture and space design. Over the years, Monnet has worked with many prestigious companies, including Hermès, Alessi, Ligne Roset, Bally, BMW, Swatch and Vitra. He has also won numerous awards for his designs, including the Red Dot Design Award, the Good Design Award and the Wallpaper Design Award. Monnet's designs are often characterized by their elegant simplicity, functionality and minimalist aesthetic. He often uses natural materials such as wood, metal and leather, and creates timeless designs that transcend trends. Today, François Monnet continues to work as an independent designer and is recognized as one of Switzerland's most influential designers.
