Fascinated by furniture from an early age, he turned to the creation of furniture dedicated to storage. He is unique in that he is both a designer and a publisher. His creations are produced exclusively by his own company. His collaboration with designer Giotto Stoppino has produced such fine pieces as the Sheraton (1977) and Hilton (1979) sideboards. Lodovico Acerbis was born in Albino, Italy, in 1939. After studying business and economics, he joined the family business specializing in furniture design and manufacture. In 1977, he met the great Italian designer Giotto Stoppino. For 15 years, they worked together around a common idea: to design furniture that facilitates storage. They both received numerous awards, including the Compasso d'Oro in Italy and the Silver Award from the Institute of Business Design in New York. Although no longer working together, Acerbis has continued its research into storage capacity. Several pieces of Acerbis furniture are now part of the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
