In 1942, Simmulson began working for the renowned Gustavsberg ceramics company as a product designer. She created numerous ceramic tableware and decorative items for the company, including limited edition pieces that became highly prized by collectors. Simmulson was one of the first Swedish designers to work with organic forms, influenced by the modernist artistic currents of her time. She also pioneered the use of color in ceramics, creating vibrant, bold pieces that were both decorative and functional. Simmulson won numerous awards for her work, including the gold medal at the Svenska Slöjdföreningen in 1954 and the grand prize at the Milan Triennale in 1957. She continued to work for Gustavsberg until her retirement in 1971. Simmulson died in 1998, but her work continues to be appreciated and collected worldwide.
